Succeeding upon science and technology
“Made-in-Germany” has become a synonym of “quality and honor” in the world market. Recently, Germany Machinery& Equipment Manufacturing Association (VDMA) declared that the export of Germany machinery manufacturing industry continually kept the first rank of the world. Germany has gained the market by the new industrial products such chemistry, electrical equipment, and optics and its industrial base is “manufacturing science and technology”.
The increasing development of German “manufacturing science and technology” is closely associated with the conducting of government. In order to sustain the development of “manufacturing science and technology”, Germany has set up three targets: “green manufacturing”, “information technology” and “extreme manufacturing”. Confronting the increasing restriction of resource and environment, Germany launched “green manufacturing plan” with the subject of protecting environment. Presently, it already has 60 kinds of, totally 3500, products awarded with Environment Label. As for the research of “information technology”, Buhlmann, minister of Federal Ministry of Education and Research, said “it is greatly necessary to prepare for the market of future, and innovation technology should be prepared for the need of development in the future”. Furthermore, the “extreme manufacturing” refers to the manufacturing of devices and functional systems with extreme dimension or extreme function at extreme conditions, mainly demonstrated in micro manufacturing, ultraprecise manufacturing, etc., for example, the airbag for automobile, the test equipment for micro-tube reagent in medical science, and so on.

Science and technology laying a course for manufacturing industry
“Made-in-Germany” roots from scientific research institutions. With more than 300 higher education schools and hundreds of research institutions, “manufacturing science and technology” is the research focus for all of them. Meanwhile, Germany has also issued a lot of “German standards” for its manufacturing industry. It is reported that these standards contribute about 16 billion Euros to Germany each year. Although the treasury funds is in constraint, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research still increase over 20% of budge this year, and the education and research fee of last year already reached 9.3 billion Euros. Furthermore, the German manufacturing industry also emphasizes the strengthening of relations between medium and small enterprises and research institutions, making these enterprises take part in the research of top technology, and accelerating the transfer of research and science/technology achievements into real productive forces.
